The Announcement

At the Territorial Clergy Retreat held August 24–27, 2026 at Emelia's Healing Resort, Samal Island, Davao, Philippines, our Primate Archbishop Ariel Santos announced a change of venue for the 2027 Territorial Convocation. The convocation will now be held in Cebu City, Philippines, the cradle of Christianity in Asia and the heart of the Visayas.
The dates remain unchanged: May 10–13, 2027. The theme, "Commissioned to Make Disciples" (Matthew 28:18–20), continues to shape every plenary, breakout, and act of worship.

Why Cebu City?

Cebu City is where the cross was first planted on Philippine soil — where Ferdinand Magellan raised the cross of Christ in 1521 and where the Santo Niño, the Holy Child Jesus, was first presented to the Filipino people. It is the birthplace of Christian faith in the Philippines and, by extension, in much of Asia.
As the Territory of Asia gathers under the Great Commission, Cebu City stands as a living testimony to the enduring power of that first missionary mandate: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). The city's deep Christian heritage, combined with its world-class venues, accessibility through Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), and vibrant festival culture, make it a fitting host for our territorial convocation.

What This Means for Delegates

All existing registrations remain valid. The tentative registration fee of ₱6,000.00 continues to include meals and accommodation; the final amount is subject to adjustment by the Convocation Committee and may be reduced. Delegate hospitality, plenary worship, and formation tracks will be held across the Cebu City venue complex.
Cebu City is accessible by direct flights to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) from Manila, Clark, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and major international hubs including Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai. Ferry services connect Cebu to neighboring Visayan and Mindanaoan provinces.
Delegates who have already registered will receive updated logistical information through their registered email addresses. New registrations are open and welcome.

A Word from the Primate

"As we gather in Cebu City — where the Gospel first took root in our land — we are reminded that the Great Commission is not a new mandate but an enduring calling. From the cross planted on these shores in 1521 to the worship rising from our parishes today, the Territory of Asia continues to be sent. Let us gather in Cebu with hearts open to the Holy Spirit, ready to be commissioned anew for the work of making disciples of all nations."
— Archbishop Ariel Santos, Primate of the Territory of Asia
